• Light them at arms length using a portfire and retire immediately.
• Never walk or lean across the top of any firework, even an unlit one.
• Never go back to a lit firework.
• Never put fireworks in your pocket.
• Never throw fireworks.
• Never put used or unused fireworks onto a bonfire.
